Hey everyone sorry for the long hiatus I am back with another review and this time it's on a movie that came out last year which I happen to see earlier this year (January to be exact) and since it's a new year I will be doing movie reviews kinda different. Anyway for the movie I am review I'm sure most of you know the classic universal monsters such as Dracula,Frankenstein,the mummy,the wolfman,the invisible man and others well last year Sony Pictures animation brought a movie featuring them in which the movie is Hotel Transylvania. .

plot (spoilers)
The plot basically involves Dracula who builds a hotel for monsters after his wife dies mainly to keep his daughter safe thinking that humans are bad .Later things change when a young man arrives at the hotel and falls in love with his daughter.Dracula must do something before things get worse.

Genndy Tartakovsky
the film was in development since 2006, as sony was going through so many directors until Genndy Tartakovsky took over as the sixth director to direct his feature directorial debut. Genndy Tartakovsky if you didn't know was known for shows on cartoon network such as Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and Sym-Bionic Titan and I heard he is going to be doing a popeye movie coming out in 2016. He did a nice job on directing the film.
characters
In this segment I will be talking about the main character,the villain and my favorite character.
the main character is Count Dracula, who is the owner of Hotel Transylvania, and is a over protective father he is voiced by Adam Sandler. The villain is Quasimodo, who is a gourmet chef and used to be the Hunchback of Notre Dame who desires to cook humans he is voiced by Jon Lovitz and I didn't realize that it's the same person that voices the radio from the brave little toaster ('listen to this') so that's a plus.Now for my favorite character it's hard to decide which one is my favorite because I have two being Murray the mummy voiced by Cee lo Green he was by far the funnest character in the whole movie! but my other favorite is Dracula's sweet and beautiful daughter Mavis voiced by Selena Gomez.Also she was supposed to be voiced by Miley Cyrus but she was replaced by Selena Gomez. There are so many more characters in this movie but I just mention these ones.There are others including Frankenstein, The invisible man, the werewolf and so many more.

The animation is very nice it kinda reminds me of the animation in Megamind. The comedy is fantastic (or should I say fangtastic) but some of it I could had gone without (farting,peeing etc) but thank god we don't see a ton of it in the film. The story is decent, its not bad nor is it great. The writing in my opinion it's not as bad as people are saying (trust me Rebirth of Mothra 2's writing is much worse which was one of the flaws it had which was a mediocre film) But the writing isn't oscar worthily material. And the film is done by Sony pictures animation
critics
The film got mixed reviews with a 43% on Rotten Tomatoes (seriously?) this movie is great! why does it have a 43% but people who aren't critics like myself loved it.\and it also has a 47 on metacritic *sigh* because of the reception this film got from critics I really dislike critics now.
box office
the film was a success it made about $148 million on it's $85 million budget in the U.S (the same amount Megamind made back in 2010)
and worldwide it made over $350 million which was more than Megamind's worldwide total.
thoughts on when I saw it
I first saw this movie on January 19 2013 at Cinemark Warren 16 at 4:20pm in 2D first off the screen was smaller than other theaters,the seats were not nice and it was dirty and there was a lot of people in the theater (in which they were talking a lot),the people who worked there were okay, and they showed the same preview twice in a row (being for here comes the boom) speaking of previews they also had the despicable me 2 teaser with the minions singing.I did really enjoy the movie.
quick blu ray thoughts
the film looks very nice and has good audio and has a fair amount of extras (but not enough) . It does allow bookmarks and resumes playback (which Megamind can't do) as well.I really they do a special edition to please us HT fans.
final thoughts
The film is a home run it's a must see and it's way better than Megamind go see it
